Port Edward founder Edward Wolowiec is the eclectic soul whose experience in life includes careers involving the sea as a diver in salvage expeditions, in music both as a performer and teacher, the culinary arts - he designed and supervised the building of Port Edward Restaurant. The restaurant opened in 1964 on the banks of the Fox River. Ed is also active in public service, serving as chairman of the Algonquin EDC, as president of the Elgin Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and business development, organizing and opening the Illinois State Bank of Lake in the Hills with six other Fox Valley businessmen. He remains active in the operation of the restaurant as well as the local and state restaurant associations. |
